Certainly not to enjoy a smoke and the evening breeze, it faces west – too hot in the summertime. <br />Then a friend of mine said, “The house is on a hill, right? The porch is on the side because you’re meant to enjoy the view, to look at something.” <br />Okay then, I'll bite. What’s to the west worth looking at? There’s the western part of Long Island, Brooklyn, and the skyline of Manhattan. <br />I would guess to say that, at that time, the tallest building in that skyline would have been his Woolworth building.
