In Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn is the 'Stuyvesant Heights Historic District', designated in 1971 by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. A handful of blocks that consist mostly of Beaux-Arts townhouses in very good shape, this area is one of the most unusual in New York City.
