I love this post! Seeing the actual site plan of Killenworth is fantastic. I am interested in the fact the the rear garden is not laid out with same symmetry as the Forecourt as where so many of the great houses of Long Island. The curiously strong asymmetry of the pool and terraces is so much more intimate and interesting. Did the landscape require this arrangement?
