Ogden Livingston Mills had John Russell Pope design him this house c. 1915 in Woodbury. Mills was an attorney and politician, serving as Under Secretary of the Treasury in the Coolidge and Hoover administrations, as well as the Secretary of the Treasury under Hoover. He was also a director on the boards of numerous prominent companies including Chase National Bank and Nabisco. His sister Gladys married Henry Carnegie Phipps and resided at 'Spring Hill' in Old Westbury. Though the house is no longer standing, click HERE to see where it used to stand on google earth.
