Save Old Bethpage!

Help Save the Old Bethpage Village Restoration

"Petition to Help Save Old Bethpage Village Restoration:

As part of a proposed deficit reduction plan by County Executive Thomas Suozzi, all county museums and a number of parks, including Old Bethpage Village Restoration, will close as early as April 1.

The loss of ALL of these museums dealing with our history and the many beautiful parks would be a tragedy for the residents of Nassau County, particularly Nassau County’s children. Each year some 35,000 schoolchildren visit Old Bethpage Village Restoration.

Though this bill was to be voted upon by the legislation this past Monday 2/9/09, the vote was postponed until Monday 2/23/09. Your signature can make a difference!

PLEASE JOIN US IN VOICING OUR DISAGREEMENT OF THE CLOSING OF OLD BETHPAGE VILLAGE RESTORATION!"

Thanks for posting the link, I hope a lot of people will sign the petition. I am worried for all of the Nassau County sites. If they are closed and go further into disrepair they might not be around for the next generation to see.

I wish that all the people who signed the petition would be interested in saving the rest of the homes, buildings & properties. It is well over the 1000 mark. I wonder if Zach would be able to reach out to the save the OBVR folks. - Deb
