Hempstead House / 'Kings' Castle

For anyone who watched NBC's 'Kings' last night, you probably noticed a whole lot of Daniel Guggenheim's 'Hempstead House' in the show.  The entrance to King Silas' home was the Apthorp apartment building in NYC.  The interiors (where they threw the banquet and played the piano) were the interiors of 'Hempstead House'.  They used the exterior of 'Hempstead House' as a different residence, one they said was at 'the vineyard'.  So they were able to get quite a bit of use out of the home, which I imagine will be seen in a bunch of upcoming episodes.

hi zach
looking at the pix you post of hempstead, those tv folks must have had to do some sprucing up or can they cover all that peeling paint with the computer? when they rent a place like that, do the owners let them do any fixing or is it take it or leave it nassau county should let people come in and grow veggies at the moore place in exchange for restoring the gardens. i'll go.

The tv crew did do some sprucing up. I read that they wallpapered a room and did some minor clean up. But I noticed the grass looked especially green in the show and it isn't like that in real life, so I imagine that's where the computer came in.
