Mrs. F.S. Phillips Residence / Grey Gardens

Built in 1897 for Mrs. F. Stanhope Phillips by J. Greenleaf Thorp in East Hampton. Later on the home would become the residence of Big and Little Edith Bouvier Beale, documented in 'Grey Gardens'. Click HERE to see 'Grey Gardens' on google earth.

Click below to see 'Grey Gardens' in a 1980 aerial shot (you can click a number of other years as well).

i'm wondering why wikimapia doesn't highlight historic homes on the east end to the degree that the north shore is done?

It is individual people who do the tagging, so it is up to whoever is willing to do it to get it done. Wikimapia is really just the interface.

Zach - do Sally Quinn and Ben Bradlee still own Grey Gardens? It was they who rescued and restored it in the eighties. Thank you - Robert

Yes they do - recent article in the NY Times with some great pictures of the restored gardens!
