Lynrose
'Lynrose' was built for Mrs. Herbert Shipman in 1931 by William Lawrence Bottomley in Roslyn Harbor. Pieces of the house have been removed over time including a portion of the servants wing. Click HERE to see where 'Lynrose' is on google earth.

I'm fairly certain this is the house of Mrs. Herbert Shipman. LI Country Houses.... SPLIA, has a picture of the house showing the same odd off-center chimney. I don't have my copy with me at the moment, but as I recall, the book listed the house as demolished.By the way, this is a great site - I look forward to my daily North Shore fix. J.
