When 'Farlands' Was For Sale

A brochure advertising 'Farlands', the Guernsey Curran estate designed by Guy Lowell c. 1918 in Oyster Bay with landscaping by A. Roland Sargent. The house was later renamed 'Mill River Farm' and was demolished sometime in the '50s. The outbuildings, including the farm group and playhouse, have since been converted into residences. Click HERE to see the remains of 'Farlands'.

It's a shame they demolished this house. I have an old article from an architectural magazine that shows interior pics and floorplans, and the house is comparable in size to some of the large McMansions they build today.

I always hate to see an old building torn down -- it is so sad.
