A brochure advertising 'Thatch Meadow Farm', the George W. Bacon residence enlarged by Peabody, Wilson & Brown in St. James c. 1914. The architects enlarged an 18th century farm house and built a barn complex for Bacon as he had a herd of Guernsey cattle. Click HERE to see 'Thatch Meadow Farm' on google earth.

Could it be at 121 Harbor Road, Saint James, NY 11780? I found a website for thatchmeadowfarm.com.
Also found this location cited: Thatch Meadow Farm, estate of George W. Bacon, Harbor Rd., W side, opposite Bacon Rd., Head of the Harbor (227 acres, 4 buildings).
Looks like the website Thatch Meadow Farm is at least part of the original estate.
A book about St James says it was later purchased by banker Viola Billings, whose family retained it after Billings's death in 1979. Apparently Bacon Road "became the drive to the house and was closed each season by Bacon, who would hang a 'road closed' sign, much to the chagrin of local residents who had used the road in years past."
That's definitely it, I'll have a link up shortly.
The original Farm Group was so perfectly beautiful and I must say that thatchmeadowfarm.com is one seriously Hippy Dippy site! I can't figure out what it is all about.... is it a commune or arts center or what?
