I believe that this is the house that was owned for many years by Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone, back when they interviewed rock musicians and not generals....

It's on Further Lane near Skimhampton Road

Do you have an exact location? Maybe it's because it's Monday morning but I don't see it over there.

I believe Indian Wells Highway is the dividing line between East Hampton and Amagansett, so the house is actually in East Hampton. And yes, it was owned by Mr. Wenner, before he bought the Ward Bennett designed house nearby. I believe that Mrs. Wenner got the Bennett designed house when they separated.

Did Jan Wenner also have a beautiful north shore house too?

Zach, I hear you about Monday morning.

Going west toward East Hampton from Amagansett, Further Lane and Skimhampton Road split at a fork. The Bartlett house is on Further just after the fork, on the south side, of course.

is that pink wall in the pond next door some of that modern aht we've heard so much about up here in the country? even more fascinating is the donut house up the road a piece. the rich really are different.

security word def - "sutshor" - lower border of long island

Turner, it's art. No, it's a gate. No, it's art, no, it's art AND a gate. It's the former Francois de Menil estate, designed by Charles Gwathmey.

This was my grandmother's and step-grandfather's house. I spent many summers there. Beautiful place!

SO glad to "find" this...actually my brother did. We spent many a summer here. I was born in '55 and spent my first 12 summer there. Mimi died in '74 and then it was sold. :( Our grandmother's second hubby (love of her life!) was Eddie Bartlett. Cannot tell you how thrilled I am...we're working on our family tree!
