'Beaupre'

'Beaupre', the Thomas Suffern Tailer Jr. estate designed by Walker & Gillette c. 1932 in Lattingtown. Click HERE for more on 'Beaupre'. These photos were taken in 1941 for Mrs. George F. Baker. Early in 1941 T. Suffern Tailer and his wife, George F. Baker's daughter Florence Baker Tailer, were divorced. Florence remarried Stanley Martineau shortly thereafter and the photos carry the label 'Mrs. Stanley Martineau'.

Fantastic! Love the dramatic pitch of the roofs.

Yup. It's time for someone to write a book about Walker & Gillette---when they were good, they were very good, in a variety of styles.

Despite the encroachments, it is a lovely house from every view, a true sign of great architecture.

wow - the awning salesman made a big score at this place. must have been the first of those rollout sunspace things.
watch out for the new rotation thing on bing. when it rotates 90 degrees, i get vertigo.
maybe for another 3 mill, they'd move this thing up to maine where not quite all the open land has been built on yet.
