Not my most favorite house (and the re-do of the "French" or "Ladies'" Drawing room will leave you speechless)but the gardens, greenhouses and camellia house are sublime. I highly encourage a visit. You won't be disappointed. And, despite what I wrote in the begining of the post, don't miss the magnificent Chanler murals in the breakfast room- or the tea house in the pool garden (kudos to whomever oversaw the pool garden's recent rehab). The tea house is believed by some to be one of the last extant Elsie de Wolfe interiors in the world
Except for those ghastly plastic planters...the pool garden did turn out well.
I rather like this home...especialy, I guess it would have been Mr.Coes writing room, just off the ball-room...and of course the hidden bar. I hope they eventually open up more of the house.
I also think Coe Hall has one of the nicest gate houses left on the Island.
Magnus, I gather the re-do leaves us speechless in a bad way?

...you my friends, of course! Seriously, I finally selected Handel's Le Paix from the Fireworks | Watermusic album. Since this is Long Island, I added a little twist of opening & closing with the sun over the water (from the spot in Sea Cliff from where I could see Lands End) since it is, after all, an island...
And so I give you Old Westbury Gardens for your enjoyment.

LGB....you are truely an artist!!! That was beautiful!!...and Handel is my second favorite next to Vivaldi....though I must admit,when reading your contest a flash went through my head of Janis Joplin's sultry version of Gershwin's "Summertime".....
