Lattingtown. The house was originally built c. 1850 and sat on part of the
George Galt Bourne estate. Bourne and his wife
Helen C. Whitney divorced in 1924 and in 1926 she remarried Gibson, altering this house to fit their needs. Click

Isn't this the house that belonged to some terribly social plastic surgeon and his even more social wife fairly recently?

yes, that's who I was trying to think of. Harvey Dow Gibson Hall at Bowdoin, built in 1954, makes a cameo in my post today about some gilded age New York interiors that found their way to Maine.
