From the Bing view the "L" carriage barn and separate five-stall garage looks unused.
I'm surprised as they seemingly would lend themselves very easily to be re-adapted for manageable residential living - with some flair and better construction than new.
A new "manor home" from Bing is being constructed. Was there a structure there recently pulled down?

Actually that Bing view is quite old -- the buildings are currently in use as a lovely courtyard-style home.
The foundation in the upper left just breaks my heart every time -- that's where the super's house used to be. It didn't appear to be run down at all, and I was astonished & dismayed when they tore it down for the current behemoth.
Zach, any idea where on the property the apocryphal tunnel where the remains of Bird's plane were supposedly stored?
KJ...I'm pretty sure the carriage house is someone's private residence. I've seen cars in the driveway. The new house that sits at the foot of the property along Chicken Valley Road replaced roughy where the Super's cottage stood (it was closer to the stable). I don't know if that house ever sold but it had sat empty after it was completed for at least three years.
LGB...if said tunnel ever existed...no clue. My guess is it would have been filled in when the house came down though.
l'il gay boy - thanks for correcting with the old Bing view. The google (which I didn't try first) shows the manor house's entry drive from the opposite direction.
LGB/Zach - I'm glad the surviving buildings have made the happy transition to being working homes.
