'Villa Carola'

'Villa Carola', the Isaac Guggenheim estate designed by Howard Van Buren Magonigle c. 1916 in Sands Point with outbuildings by Warren & Wetmore and landscaping by Ferruccio Vitale.  The estate was subsequently owned by Isaac's brother Solomon Guggenheim and renamed 'Trillora Court'.  'Villa Carola' now functions as the Village Club of Sands Point.  Click HERE to see the estate on google earth and HERE on bing.

Today's Stanford White/Samuel Yellin index:

Stanford White didn't design it, but Magonigle did work in the MM&W office for a time

And Samuel Yellin really did do the ironwork on this one.

Very nice - understated, elegant, and deceptively large, plus very impressively sited. Glad this one is still around.

Very nice and indeed much larger than you would think looking at the exterior photos. Wonderfully detailed interiors too. Appreciate the addition of the floor plans
