That's quite a name

Zach, has this house been heavily altered? The Bing link places you at the intersection of Ocean Ave and Pudding Hill Ln. I cannot see any house in the immediate area that I can identify as the Schuyler Quackenbush house.

The name Schuyler Quackenbush is bragging about your Dutch ancestry. Judging from the house they had money, not sure about social status.

Happy early Thanksgiving everyone.

This house is southwest from the mapped point at the corner of Ocean, Crossways and Lee. Appears to be very well intact.

That's so strange...when I click the link it takes me to the view directly over the house.

Mrs. Schuyler Quackenbush. Wasn't she the character played by Margaret Dumont in the lost Matx Brothers classic, "Night in the Hamptons"?

Pieter Van Quackenbush came on a ship from Holland in 1653 to New Amsterdam. He was a master mason and block maker. The Quackenbush house in Albany is the oldest standing building and considered a very fine specimen of Dutch masonry.
