Seamoor' was built for
Charles Millard Pratt c. 1890 by
Lamb and Rich. C.M. Pratt was the eldest son of
Charles Pratt, and was secretary, director and treasurer of
Standard Oil Co., as well as the head of the syndicate that ran the LIRR and was the president of the board of the
Pratt Institute. His estate, the first of the Pratt homes to be built in the Dosoris section, was named partially after his wife
Mary Seymour Morris and was at one point close to 150 acres. The house is no longer standing.
