Looks much more Maine than Long Island.

Enviable site

It's looking across the harbor at several similar houses, built about the same time or earlier.

It's a very lovely house. The old black-and-white pictures don't do it justice.

I think ‘Canon Hill’ is a good looking house – if you hadn’t told me where it was I would have guessed upstate, probably Finger Lakes; with a very decent floor plan, well maintained pretty much in its original form on a very nice piece of property. The current, admirable condition of the house is surprising (to me) considering it’s had so many owners that Zach used the word “slew.” I’m trying to figure out if that is more or less than a butt-load.

I was a frequent guest at this wonderful house in the late 50's and early 60's when is belonged to Henry Blackstone who was the founder of a company called Servo Mechanisms. Blackstone invented the device which allows railroad crossing gates to raise and lower automatically when a train approaches.

The house presently belongs to Daniel deRoulet whose mother used to be the owner of the New York Mets.
