Julian Peabody estate designed/enlarged by himself c. 1910 in Old Westbury. Peabody was a partner in the architecture firm of Peabody, Wilson & Brown and son of Charles A. Peabody of Cold Spring Harbor. Peabody and his wife (Celestin E. Hitchcock, daughter of Thomas Hitchcock Sr.) died in 1935 when the ship they were on, the Mohawk, collided with a freighter off New Jersey and sank.
