I love this house.Such a shame what they did to it. I hear that the home itself is deserted and being let to ruin. Another tear-down not long coming.

It seems like this house could be divided into several wonderful apartments around the central hall. Would that not be allowed by Old Westbury?

I fret and worry, that in our typical American way, we are preserving all too few of these houses, among the acknowledged masterworks of their era.

Have any period aerials available of this home? The prior aerials posted here from the Art Institute of Chicago have been a pleasure allowing one to scrutinize every detail.

I was in Knole as a kid many times. Lots of very fancy Louis XV furniture. The place was huge but not very nice looking - reminded me of a hospital or a hotel. Had a sort of "The Shining" air about it - many long hallways and small rooms upstairs
