An aside - Dormer House aka Lockjaw Ridge by the architect Ms. Theodate Pope Riddle c1913 in Lattington/Locust Valley was damaged by a fire. That also resulted in a fatality.
It was a rather interesting brick home that had a lovely steep pitched roof. Almost a stable U block look to it.
It was owned and expanded by Isabel Dodge Sloan - the noted heiress who bred the very horse 'Sword Dancer'. He won the Belmont Stakes, was named horse of the year, and continues to be honored by prestigious race in his honor.
So sad. Though I don't understand how a cottage blaze could spread so quickly to the main house. I guess I assume all the outer homes are far removed from the main mansion.

Does Zach have this estate on OLI?

Thanks Zach for the link - I should've checked first to see if the property was featured before.
Anon, I too was a bit puzzled by the fire as the Bing view of the property didn't seem to suggest a neighboring cottage was there.
