The Clarkson Cowl Residence

The Clarkson Cowl residence in Kings Point.  Cowl was chairman of the board, vice-president and treasurer of James Hearn and Son Department Store.  He was also a founder of the grain brokerage firm of Logan Cowl and Co. and was president of the Central Mercantile Association.  It is unknown if the house is extant.

I bet the rain and especially the snow played hell with that roof.

Actually DFP- I've always found that the flat roves cause all the problems. Steeply pitched bits like this house seem to get by fine. That's my anecdotal experience at any rate.

It's a beautiful house, so unpretentious and, well, wholesome. I hope it does exist and is a real home.
And yes, flat roofs are a tremendous problem, speaking from personal experience.

I have a portrait of Clarkson Cowl's father in law, George A. Hearn. Does anyone know of family remaining? Warren G.
