Beautiful. How long did the awnings last before needing to be replaced?

There are also canvas "drapes" in the arcaded loggias. I've been told that awnings on such mansions were replaced every third year, or so !

Why so often?
Did they tear in the wind or fade in the sun mostly?

Awnings get soiled by rain streaks from the accumulated dust; besides colored awnings ( red striped or classic green )do fade over time. The Great Folks wanted their properties looking well maintained at all times !
