'The Dunes'

'The Dunes', the Dr. Theodore Gaillard Thomas estate built c. 1877 in Southampton.  Thomas was a surgeon at both the Woman's Hospital and Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University and the University of the City of New York and an author.  'The Dunes' was demolished around 1931.  Photo from A History of Long Island, 1905.

I have found 3 different dates for the demolition of this place... 1910, 1931 and 1938. It was most definitely still standing in the 1920s.
