I'm surprised that no one has commented that Marion Eppley also owned "Beacon Rock," the former Edwin D. Morgan ( ref. "Wheatly" at Old Westbury )estate overlooking Newport Harbor ~ and like the Long Island estate, designed by McKim, Mead and White. Eppley was an electrical genius who established the lucrative Eppley Labs in Newport and was married to Ethelberta Pyne Russell an heiress to the Moses Taylor banking and railroad fortune. Eppley was a member of Newport's Clambake Club, Spouting RocK ( Bailey's ) Beach, Reading Room, Newport Casino, Ida Lewis Yacht Club, New York Y.C., Knickerbocker, Colony and Metropolitan Clubs, New York City, Princeton Club, N.J., Jekyll Island Club, Everglades and Bath and Tennis Clubs in Palm Beach, and the Royal Societies Club of London, England. His winter residence was at 210
el Brillo Way in Palm Beach.
